WINTER TV SEASON - Winding Down Edition

WINTER TV SEASON PREMIERES WIND DOWN

Well, the Oscars are done, the big premieres have given way and cancellations have started left and right (sorry not sorry 90210 and ZERO HOUR). All of your favorite shows just pulled out the big guns killing off characters for their Winter finales (I'm looking at you REVENGE) in order to infuse life into the usually dead part of the late mid-season. On the Hollywood side, the Spring blockbusters have already started with Jack the Giant Slayer and Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful on the way. My favorite piece of news involves the CW bringing WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAYS back from the dead with new episodes!!! Get it! Anyways, there is still sooo much happening on TV this week, so check out the new offerings and get excited for next week when my official post on the KINGS OF TV is released. *THE WAY TV WORKS
Renewals last week of SupernaturalArrow and The Vampire Diaries were ALREADY ANNOUNCED!!!
Although many  renewal (and a few cancellation) announcements for broadcast TV primetime shows for the 2013-14 season will happen prior to these dates, the broadcast network upfront events are the final date on which each network's 2013 Fall schedules might be revealed.
So, you'll know no later than these dates* about the fate of your favorite broadcast primetime shows.
2013 Broadcast Network Upfront Meetings
May 13, 2013NBCNew YorkMorning
May 13, 2013FOXNew YorkAfternoon
May 14, 2013UnivisionNew YorkMorning
May 14, 2013ABCNew YorkAfternoon
May 15, 2013CBSNew YorkAfternoon
May 16, 2013The CWNew YorkMorning

Cable networks also have advertising upfront events spread throughout March, April and May, and while they often announce new shows at them they aren't typically "the day all renewals and cancellations are finally revealed" as are the broadcast events.
*The Returners denotes that your fav show is back with new episodes

Sunday - March 3rd

*HOT NEW SHOW- The History Channel is getting into the narrative game following their wildly successful Golden Globe nominated Hatfield & McCoy mini-series. If you can't wait for Game of Thrones 3rd season to hit the fans on March 31st then turn on VIKINGS to get your medieval fix (and a lil history).

*HOT NEW SHOW - ABC has finally replaced 666 Park Avenue's Sunday time slot with this glossy dark drama about a mom that is in too deep with the mob. I don't see it lasting but with a two-hour premiere ABC is banking on it. We'll see what happens.

The Returners: NBC's "ALL STAR- Celebrity Apprentice"

Monday - March 4th

*HOT HOT HOT!- If you aren't watching FOX's new show THE FOLLOWING, you are missing out completely. This new drama is surging to the top of the pack as one of 2012-13's only sure fire hits and for good reason. It's edge of your seat awesomeness and expertly acted. I highly recommend you jump on the catch-up bus before you miss your chance.

Tuesday - March 5th

*Time slot shake-up - American Idol has finally picked it's top 20! I could sit here and say how much I love this show but the reason it's featured tonight is to warn fans that an American Idol special is taking over Tuesday on Fox this week so there will be no episodes of normal Tuesday fare like New Girls and Mindy Project this week. But tune in to see the top 20 in a vocal slam!

DVD CORNER: The following movies will be available in stores today:

Wreck-It Ralph
Red Dawn
Breaking Dawn Part 1: Extended Edition
Breaking Dawn Part 2

Wednesday - March 6th

*New Show- I don't have anything to say about this... except that it's on Bravo if it's your thing.

Thursday - March 7th

*Milestone- Glee is back from break tonight with it's record 500th musical performance in an episode paying homage to famous movie musical numbers! I know i'm excited!

Cable Offerings: Battleground: Rhino Wars

Friday - March 8th

*HOT PREMIERE Fashion isn't my thing but NBC is serving some up with this show premiering tonight.

*HOT RETURNER The long awaited return of the hit NBC show GRIMM couldn't come soon enough to help save the Peacock Network from the worst ratings it's had in years.

MOVIE CORNER: The following movies open in theaters today:

Oz the Great and Powerful
Dead Man Down

Saturday - March 9th

*If you are bored.... Lifetime is premiering an adaption on this book.... yeah, i'm not watching either.

*SNLTonight's episode will feature Justin Timberlake as host and performer!
