SPRING TV SEASON - It just got REEL

SPRING TV SEASON PREMIERES IN FULL SWING

Okay TV nerds, there is SOOO much in store for all you in this week's edition of Keepin' It Reel! Joining the illustrious team is none other than the beautiful pug-loving girl Jenna Stroh who will provide TV reviews that actually keep it reel (did I mention she has the best bangs in town?). That being said, make sure to check out the new review column and remember to leave some comments if you like what you see! The full season order shows are dwindling down to their last four episodes while some are poppin' off finale's left and right (Suburgatory, Dallas). Glee finally got it's renewal from Fox (hello Glee Project Season 3) and the MTV Movie Awards are... TONIGHT! Ahhhhhh! For the info on all things awesome, continue reading and as always,  keep watching TV!

*THE WAY TV WORKS

Renewals last week of SupernaturalArrow and The Vampire Diaries were ALREADY ANNOUNCED!!!

Although many  renewal (and a few cancellation) announcements for broadcast TV primetime shows for the 2013-14 season will happen prior to these dates, the broadcast network upfront events are the final date on which each network's 2013 Fall schedules might be revealed.

So, you'll know no later than these dates* about the fate of your favorite broadcast primetime shows.

Glee's Kurt And Blaine Voted TV's Greatest Couple Of All Time!!

kurt blaine greatest tv couple
Further proof that Gleeks rule the world of fandoms!
Glee’s Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson officially took the title of Greatest TV Couple of All Time today thanks to an EW.com contest. Up against some pretty iconic television romances, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Buffy and Spike, Veronica Mars Veronica and Logan, andDoctor Who’s Doctor and Rose, Klaine went straight for the gold!
A special round applause to Chris Colfer and Darren Criss for bringing the heat and chemistry to the small screen.

Kristin Chenoweth Joins Matthew Broderick's Comedy Pilot!

Hey CBS! You want talent? You got talent!
Not only is Matthew Broderick filming a comedy pilot for the network, but the fabulous and amazeballs Kristin Chenoweth is joining him!!
Unfortunately, it's a multicamera comedy — think sitcoms of the past — but those seem to work for that particular network. Matthew plays Jack, a recently widowed father raising his 12-year-old son who wants to start dating again. Kristin won't be his love interest, though! She has the other lead, Marnie, who is Jack's "cute" and "judgmental" waitress sister!
The hijinks! LOLz!
If it's good, it's good! Multicamera might not mean as much as we think! At least, we hope not!
Good luck guys!

Tellin' It Like It Is REVIEWS
I like to compare new shows on TV to baby sea turtles hatching. Will the baby sea turtles make it to the ocean before someone comes along and eats them? Will "How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)" make it to the ocean and become a full grown sea turtle? Absolutely not. This new show is the one baby sea turtle that gets so close to the ocean, yet becomes someone's dinner. Sorry, baby turtle.
On April 3rd, TV watchers were introduced to the show "How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)". After seeing who was in the show, Sarah Chalke from "Scrubs", Brad Garrett from "Everyone Loves Raymond", and Elizabeth Perkins from "Weeds", I thought I would really like it. And I did. For about 2 minutes.
I took notes while watching the first episode and one thing I wrote down was the one-liners the characters said. They were pretty funny and that is what got me through the show. Also, the step-dad Max played by Brad Garrett and the mom Elaine played by Elizabeth Perkins were the two best characters of the show. They are what we all strive for as we get older-cool, sexy, and funny.
The overall concept is that Sarah Chalke's character has come back to live with her parents because she can't take her ex-husband anymore and she brings her daughter with her. Here is where I begin to hate it. It reminds of the show "The New Normal" which I also hated. This storyline and concept has been done so much. Family dynamics and single parents aren't new anymore! With "Modern Family" out there and "The New Normal" it just feels way too overdone.

Now I watch a lot of TV. I know a good show when I see one. Sure, I might watch this show in my spare time for the parents and their one-liners, but will I love this show and recommend it to all you beautiful people out there? NO. This baby sea turtle is going to die. I'm warning you right now.

Also make sure to try out NBC's HANNIBAL and STARz DaVinci's Demons. If you love The Following, than you will love Hannibal. Great art direction, beautiful imagery, top notch actors, and surprises at every turn so far. It also premiered to great reviews so expect this to be a new NBC Thursday staple. If you like The Borgias or Game of Thrones than STARz's Friday night offering will also tickle your fancy. The premiere was spicy, well-acted and worth a try (if not for premium cables upped violence and nudity).

WHAT TO WATCH

Sunday - April 14th

*HOT Awards Show- Tonight at 8pm on MTV and VH1, don't forget to tune into the MTV Movie Awards with special host Pitch Perfect's REBEL WILSON! There are brand new categories like best shirtless scene (ooh la la), and celebrities will be abounding. If you like to have a good time, MTV's award shows are definitely the best place to be.

*HOT PREMIERE - A reality documentary series following the journey of one man dropped naked in the wild with nothing at all. This spicy concept is brought to you by none other than the Discovery Channel surprisingly. I'll be tuning in to see just how they pull this nudity thing off on basic cable.

Monday - April 15th

*HOT HOT HOT!- I'm usually the last person to tout a show offered from the SyFy channel (unless it's FaceOFF) but there is A LOT of news swirling around this new premiere. SyFy created this show in tandem with a brand new video game creating a media experience that is playable and watchable with story lines that intermesh. It's a brand new experiment and what better to entice viewers than by setting it in post-apocalyptic St. Louis! Most definitely check it out!

*HOT FINALE - TNT's back-stabbing hit remake DALLAS ends with a two part finale tonight that is not to be missed. WIth the passing of one of TV's most beloved stars mid-production, DALLAS has been on every TV watchers hot list all season.

*HOT Awards Show - LOGO (the LGBT themed network for those of you without premium cable) will be airing their LGBT awards tonight.

*HOT RETURNER - With The Carrie Diaries all rapped up, last year's WIPEOUT copycat OH SIT! is back! Don't turn your nose down yet though, this show is fast-paced, hilarious, and a raucous good time. If you have nothing better to watch, or you are hangin' at a party, this show is sure to be a hit as contestants navigate the hardest, most extreme musical chairs course in TV history.

Tuesday - April 16th

*HOT RETURNER - Discovery Channel's darling DEADLIEST CATCH is back tonight with a brand new season of Alaskan crab fishing extremes.

THE RETURNERS: A&E's Storage Wars is also back tonight.

DVD CORNER: The following movies will be available in stores today:

Wednesday - April 17th

*HOT FINALE- ABC's adorably hilarious SUBURGATORY joins THE NEIGHBORS as the first of ABC's finale's this season. Tessa Altman is a revelation in comedy stuck in a bubbly perfect Stepford Wives like world known as the suburbs. If you like to laugh, you should be watching this great show chalk full of great actors.

Thursday - April 18th

*AMERICAN IDOL UPDATE- The behemoth known as American Idol has hit a milestone never achieved in it's 11 previous seasons: a top 5 of only FEMALES. The alst female winner of the show was season 6's American Idol Jordin Sparks. That's interesting because it's really Idol's female winners that are making the big bucks (Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson). SO it's no wonder why the producers were really hoping for another female to win. What they didn't expect was to produce one of the best slate of talent ever found on Idol. Angie Miller, Kree Harrison, and Candice Glover are all good enough to each be an Idol winner. If you don't believe me check out this recent week's performance hailed as one of the best performances on any talent show EVER, or better yet, tune in to the last four week's of the show on FOX.

*HOT CONTROVERSY- GLEE stirred up quite the controversy this week with a school shooting themed episode. The show was only two happy songs in when horror struck the halls with a gunshot leading the entire Glee club into a dramatic tear inducing ordeal as they wait it out telling each other their last goodbyes. Here's what Lea Michelle had to say even though she never appeared in the episode:
In my opinion, I always like when a show aims to stay relevant, and this is most definitely that, and although I liked the episode in all because of what Sue Sylvester did, I really wish Glee handled it differently. The show literally dove from happy to dramatics and back to absurdity again. The problem with Glee is that they never focus on a problem at all anymore. Remember when Season 1 gave us a whole arc of Will's fake baby. It was tantalizing! But now I promise we can expect them never to mention this gun debacle again which is RIDICULOUS.They should have made it a serious shooting and spent the rest of the season coming to terms.

Friday - April 19th

*SAVE HAPPY ENDINGS- Just your weekly reminder to keep watching TV's most hilarious sitcom! Only one week left before the finale and we don't want it to be the end!

MOVIE CORNER: The following movies open in theaters today:

Saturday - April 20th

*EPIC FAIL- What is ABC unveiling this Saturday? A game show called BET YOUR BABY where parents guess how there babies will react to challenges like cookie-eating and block stacking... wow desperate parents wow.

*SNLTonight's episode will be a rerun. New episodes won't be back till May!

Sunday - April 21st

*TV MOVIE- If you having nothing better to do check out ABC's premiere of REMEMBER SUNDAY. A heart tugging movie starring the man behind CHUCK as a husband who has to remember who he is married to (Alexis Bledel) every single morning sure to an accident. Even though we already saw this movie when it was called 50 First Dates, it still promises to be good.
