2013 Fall TV Premieres - Week 1

IT IS FINALLY HERE!!

We're back! Keepin' it Reel Entertainment was pretty dead during the Summer, but we're back with more guest bloggers and entertainment coverage then ever. For our new readers out there, make sure to check back often for premiere dates of your favorite returning shows and reviews of all the new ones so you know what is worth your time and what is going to get the axe. It's glad to be back!

OKAY, let's jump right in! The Fall TV season is literally my favorite time of the year. Historically, the Fall season was really the only season that mattered. Changing viewership habits have caused networks to extend Fall into the Spring and to also add Summer programming but for the most part the big money shows are always saved for the Fall-Winter cycle. Each year, we are bombarded with marketing and ads trying to get our attention as all the new shows vie for the season 2 renewal and to one day be syndicated on TBS like Friends or Seinfeld. 70 new shows will premiere, half of them won't even air their whole season, and half of the rest will get season 2's, and only a fourth of those will end up getting  to syndication. WE the viewers get to choose based on what we decide to keep watching and therefore the Fall season is a bloodbath. I LOVE to see bad shows fail and burn in their awful mediocrity and to watch little gems blossom and become rapid hits. TV really does have the world to offer us, but sometimes it's hard to keep track of what to watch and what is worth your time. That's where Keepin' it Reel comes in. This blog is about tracking entertainment and helping you know which show is on it's way to being canceled and which one you start watching now because it's going to be a pop culture god one day. If you LOVE TV, you can even guest blog for us, just shoot us a message! In the meantime, thanks for reading and we are looking forward to an excellent season!

Guide to Premieres WEEK 1

Okay, this post is titled Week 1, but this really is a pre-week to the Fall season! The official premiere dates for the networks start this Sunday the 15th! There will be a separate guide for this later. But tonight marks the pre-start for the early birds trying to grab the worms:

MONDAY - SEPT. 9 th

THE MILLION SECOND QUIZ (New)
- A brand new event game show. NBC is going big with this insane game show that gives viewers a very accessible way to get onto a huge show! Basically, you answer questions on your app at home and if you rock sox, you have a chance to go to NYC to compete in THE CHAIR. The longer you answer trivia right in the chair, the more money you win. It definitely has a learning curve but it's only a 10-night event that has been airing on NBC at 7pm since Monday. It's primed to be the next Who Wants to be a Millionaire so this is a definite MUST.

WEDNESDAY - SEPT. 11th

THE X FACTOR Season 3!
- Although the new judging choices are a little odd, at least we can thank the tv gods that Britney Spears has been removed and that the oddly adorable pairing of Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato remains. Even though The X Factor has been shaky in America, it's the only other competition that can even hope to launch careers behind the behemoth that is American Idol. If there's any other reality competition worth keeping tabs on, it's this one (who was the last winner of The Voice that anyone knows other than people who watch The Voice?).

ALREADY AIRING!

These two shows started airing last week so if you are a fan, you need to catch up!
HBO
FXX

IMPORTANT NOTE: It's Always Sunny has been moved to a brand new network FXX, no FX anymore. Many cable providers don't provide this network yet in basic cable packages so if you are having trouble, make sure to find it online.

PROJECT FREE TV IS YOUR BEST FRIEND!!!!

That's it for this week! Enjoy the pre-premieres and gear your self up for the onslaught that will start on Sunday!!!!

HAPPY WATCHING
