The Guide

Sunday, Sept. 22nd

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards (Special Event!) 7pm on CBS
It's TV's biggest night! You better be watching as your favorite shows go head-to-head in the small screen's version of the Oscars. I'm pulling for Cat Deeley for a much deserved Best Reality Host Award and I'd be happy if American Horror Story: Asylum won anything but we'll see. Neil Patrick Harris as a host promises surprises galore so we say:
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Monday, Sept. 23rd
How I Met Your Mother (Returner!) 7pm on CBS
It's the final season of one of TV ROYALTY's top shows. This crowd favorite about a certain mother needs no review, make sure to tune in for it's final season!
RECOMMENDED!

The Voice (Returner!) 7pm on NBC
Uggg... The Voice was the newest addition to what is now a completely over-saturated talent show market. If we were to watch all the singing shows on TV there would be time for nothing else. I agree that it's a beautiful thing to stare at Adam Levine but can anyone tell me the names of anyone who have won this show and gotten famous???? Exactly... watch The X Factor or better yet... wait for American Idol to see the real stars emerge.
Watch if you must!

2 Broke Girls (Returner!) 8pm on CBS
OMG!!!! If you aren't watching this than START. These two girls are the hardest hitting comedians in primetime and this is the first show to be watched on my Tivo. So funny. Stellar cast. And I can promise you that this show is destined for longevity and TV ROYALTY status. I heart Kat Dennings.
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Mom (NEW!) 8:30pm on CBS
Anna Faris and Allison Janney in one show? What's not to love? Two great actresses in a trusted premise sounds like the recipe for success. I actually saw a pre-screening of the episode and I can tell you: IT'S COMEDY GOLD!!!!!!!! It is definitely in the running for best new show of Fall!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Blacklist (NEW!) 9pm on NBC
If you are like me, you have seen this trailer a billion times and each time it doesn't get any better.... I just don't like the actors or the cheesy look... but who knows...
EH!

Hostages (NEW!) 9pm on CBS
This new CBS drama plays more like a miniseries or TV movie. It's got big screen talent and a big screen premise surrounding a presidential hostage crisis and it looks super bad ass. You MUST tune in
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Castle (Returner!) 9pm on ABC
ABC's Bones copycat is back (yeah I know, bite me). Fans know who they are and it'll be around for a while so keep watching.
RECOMMENDED!

Tuesday, Sept. 24th

MARVEL's Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. (NEW!) 7pm on ABC
Prolly the most anticipated show of the season is Marvel's little Avengers baby. Picking right up into the superhero universe where The Avengers left off, this big budget Joss Whedon foray has the most to live up to, and the most unforgiving fans if they mess up, but they can rest assured we are all rooting for it!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

NCIS (Returner!) 7pm on CBS
This show needs no introduction. It's a TV giant and actually the most watched show on television. period. Say what you want but they did something right.
RECOMMENDED!

NCIS: Los Angeles (Returner!) 8pm on CBS
Not as good as it's predecessor but still good fun!
Watch if you must!

The Goldbergs (NEW!) 8pm on ABC
If oddest marketing had an award, The Goldbergs would win with it's awkward family photos. It's a sitcom about a quirky Jewish family, and we'll see if it hits home with viewers, check out the trailer above.
RECOMMENDED!

Trophy Wife (NEW!) 8:30pm on ABC
Malin Akerman did good in movies like The Proposal and The Heartbreak Kid (well kind of), but can she make it on the small screen in this stupidly named comedy? I don't think so. By title alone, I want to hit the cancel button. Not only that, but it's odd home on family network ABC following another new show spells (ABC doesn't really give a shit mentality). Sorry girl buuuut count your episodes cuz you will probs go second after Dads.
NOT RECOMMENDED!

Chicago Fire (Returner!) 9pm on NBC
Hot actors, Jesse Spencer from HOUSE, hot romance, hot fire, have I said hot enough? NO! This show is HOT! And it's filmed in Chicago! What more could you want?!?!?!?! Tune in for the HOT second season that even garnered a new spin off coming soon!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Lucky 7 (NEW!) 9pm on ABC
Stephen Spielberg is producing this new drama about a group of down-and-outs who pool together to win the lottery and then deal with the repercussions. There is a lot of buzz around this show and I'm super excited so it deserves a:
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Person of Interest (Returner!) 9pm on CBS
It's back for a second season even though this show about the government watching everybody everywhere at everytime really isn't that good.
EH!

Wednesday, Sept. 25th

The Middle (Returner!) 7pm on ABC
Cute family comedy. I don't watch it because it's a little much for me but hey, I'm glad Deborah Messing has a job (Everybody Loves Raymond fan for life!).
RECOMMENDED!

Revolution (Returner!) 7pm on NBC
Oh America........ why are you watching this....... What about a glossy set full of clean actors makes you believe that there is a real apocalypse happening? Is it the bad acting? The horrible set design? I don't get it? But for some reason you watch this second season instead of TNT's incredible Falling Skies? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!!

Back in the Game (NEW!) 7:30pm on ABC
Another cute and quirky show that'll be on it's way out the door pretty early on. What can I say? I can be TV mean.
EH!

Criminal Minds (Returner!) 8pm on CBS
It exists still (I know).
Watch if you must!

South Park (Returner!) 10pm on Comedy
The cult fav turned phenom starts its new season on Comedy Central.
RECOMMENDED!

Law & Order: SVU (Returner!) 8pm on NBC
Massive TV Royalty earner that again deserves no introduction!
RECOMMENDED!

Modern Family (Returner!) 8pm on ABC
What is the most critically appraised comedy on broadcast TV? This one! Entering it's 5th season (omg has it been that long?) this show is still bringing some of the best funny on the air. I love it for all that it is and you should too. This year also marks syndication rights year! You will now see Modern Family beginning to air ALL OVER TV!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

CSI (Returner!) 9pm on CBS
Once again, TV giant, TV Royalty, you know the drill. It'll be around forever.
RECOMMENDED!

Nashville (Returner!) 9pm on ABC
It's season 2 for this rocky drama from last season. It was up and down all season and got a pick up this year. It's make or break for it's survival but pre-screenigns are showing promise so check it out if you are a fan!
Eh!

Thursday, Sept. 26th

The Big Bang Theory (Returner!) 7pm on CBS
It's season 7 for TV's #1 sitcom. Most shows start to lose steam by the time they hit this milestone but not Big Bang. Viewers are actually increasing exponentially year after year and I mean, why not? Sheldon is one of TV's greatest characters and is sure to be a staple on TBS for decades to come. I'm catching up on seasons now and so should you.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Parks and Recreation (Returner!) 7pm on NBC
Ask anyone what their favorite comedy is these days and instead of Big Bang, they are prolly saying Parks and Rec. With 30 Rock gone, Parks and Rec inherits the dry humor queen award. Happy Amy Poehler charms and wins and deserves your eyes.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Crazy Ones (NEW!) 8pm on CBS
This seasons is all about huge talent, and the biggest stars sit side-by-side in CBS's THE CRAZY ONES. Robin Williams AND Sarah Michelle Gellar in a workplace dramedy that has the buzzy bees buzzing!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Glee (Returner!) 8pm on FOX
Say what you want about Glee but come Thursday, all eyes will be tuned in to see what Fox is going to do with the series following the tragic death of lead Cory Monteith. With the return of Leah Michelle, the mystery of Finn Hudson, and the upcoming death episode, expect Glee to make a HUGE resurgence in viewers this season and you might want to catch up to be a part of it. I'm a huge fan still and I'll be on the edge of my seat.
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Grey's Anatomy (Returner!) 8pm on ABC
Hands down, my favorite show. I could write for miles and miles about my love for a show that lets viewers feel real emotions for longer than a millisecond. The beautiful soundtrack, the memorable characters, the drama. I grew up with these 9 seasons and with season 10 marking the end of my favorite character Christina Yang, I couldn't be happier to partake once again in TV ROYALTY's 1 medical drama.
THE MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Michael J. Fox Show (NEW!) 8pm on NBC
Interesting take on a show. A somewhat real life account of Michael J. Fox's real medical struggles. A dramedy to watch for sure.
RECOMMENDED!

Two and a half Men (Returner!) 8:30pm on CBS
You gotta give it props for continuing without 1 and a half of the original men and still being successful but jeez, there comes a point when a show doesn't even resemble itself anymore.
Watch if you must!

Elementary (Returner!) 9pm on CBS
Last year's newest CBS crime show gets a season 2 because any show that has to do with crime on the CBS network for some reason becomes successful. American has a dark side for sure. It's pretty good though, and should stick around.
RECOMMENDED!

Parenthood (Returner!) 9pm on NBC
The only other show doling out Grey's Anatomy level doses of emotion is Parenthood. We love these shows for real connections, tears, and laughs. #Night time soaps forever
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Friday, Sept. 27th

MasterChef: Junior (NEW!) 7pm on FOX
Same concept: new subject. The cooking giant returns with a cast of middle schoolers competing with gourmet quality dishes. Sounds good to me! Definitely new for cooking shows.
RECOMMENDED!

Undercover Boss (Returner!) 7pm on CBS
For your weekly humbling dose of reminders to be thankful for what you have, tune in to this show about bosses meeting their employees and sometimes giving a helping hand.
RECOMMENDED!

Hawaii Five-0 (Returner!) 8pm on CBS
Oooosh, the Friday timeslot. We all know by now, everyone is just going to be watching Shark Tank on ABC. Sorry fans, cancellation might be staring this show in the face at the end of the season.
Eh!

Blue Bloods (Returner!) 9pm on CBS
Same fate as Hawaii Five-0 but hey, it's stuck around this long because what else are they going to put on Fridays? No one really cares.
Eh!

Saturday, Sept. 28th
Saturday Night Live (Returner!) 10:30pm on NBC
SNL is FINALLY back!!!!! With Fred Armisan, Jason Sudeikes, AND Bill Hader gone, it's exciting to meet the new cast members! Tine Fey is hosting, Cecily Strong is co-anchoring the Weekend Update, and The Californians better get a skit cuz this guy is PUMPED! #schweddyballz
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
